Add Momentum Announces HOPE HIV Projects Trip

04 September

On the 16th November, Ben & Claire Akin-Smith and Jeremy & Pat Nottingham are off to Kenya and Uganda to visit Add Momentum's HOPE HIV partner projects.

First stop will be Kibera Nursery School in Kenya; a school for HIV orphaned children, which is run in conjunction with the Salvation Army. The next stop will be Masaka Primary School in Uganda which is for children with special needs.

While in Uganda, the team will be visiting a couple of other projects in the capital Kampala. One of these is a project that works with young girls on the street while the other is a youth project working with child victims of the civil war in northern Uganda.

The objective of the trip is for the team to gain firsthand experience of the 2 schools that Add Momentum supports, in order to update the rest of the company.

With regard to Kibera, the team wants to have greater understanding of the school and how we can possibly extend the work it is doing in the future. There is also the desire to look at setting up micro finance schemes in order to provide the youngsters with skills that will help provide for themselves and their families in the future..
